mr. Shantharama  Somayaji[1947] is a renowned kannada writer. He has written more than 30 books in different genres-short story, novel, essay, childrens' books,'vaastu'etc.Mr Somayaji is an engineer. He worked as a professor in the universities of u. s .a  for  25 years.Now he is a resident of udupi, karnataka.


This collecton of essays by mr. Somayaji contains  27 essays.One of the kannada  weeklies requestd mr Somayaji to write these essays. But the editor rejected to publish these essays.Probably the editor didnot like the satire and scientific thinking in these essays.
In some of the essays mr somayaji  recollects his family life in u s a- for example-'nagtateya bhavya gudi..'
