A function to commemorate the accomplishments and contributions of the doyen of Indian archaeology, Dr S.R.Rao (my uncle) is being held in Gayana Samaja at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 26th. A distinguished panel of scholars will be speaking. A video on Dr Rao, including his excavation of the Indua Valley site, Lothal, his excavation of the underwater city of Krishna's Dwaraka, and his conservation of numerous famous monuments, and his work on the decipherment of the Indus script, will be shown.
